Recommended Course Entry Requirements Subject departments advise students to meet grade and/or other criteria before progressing to a higher level in the NCEA or CIE pathways. Students should refer to recommended course entry guidelines in planning their courses. Students who fail to meet reccommended criteria must consult with the relevant Head of Department. ReportsReports contain a summary of the results of assessments plus teachers' comments. They also include details of extracurricular involvement (cultural, sporting and spiritual), prizes and awards, positions of responsibility and comments by Housemasters, Tutors and the Headmaster. All students receive full academic reports at the end of term 2 and 4 with a final leavers testimonial in Year 13. Interim Academic Reports are given to all students at the end of term 1 and 3. NCEA Achievement Standards are published with academic reports at the end of term 2. Streaming At King's CollegeThe College firmly believes in teaching students at levels appropriate to their ability. This policy delivers the most accurate education and, through regular assessment, allows students to be either advanced or given more intensive work according to their own individual needs. The College actively encourages all students to reach their full academic potential. Therefore, all Year 9 and 10 classes are streamed according to academic potential and performance. At Years 11, 12 and 13, classes are set on a subject-by-subject basis. TutorsidesFollowing the publication of the results of each assessment (either Form Order or Internal Examination) students meet their Housemaster or Tutor to review progress to date. This provides the Housemaster, Tutor and the student with the opportunity to plan for the future and, in the case of difficulty, to find ways to improve the student's performance.
