A major responsibility of the Director of Development is to manage the fundraising and sponsorship activities so the College and its stakeholders are working together to implement our short and long term strategies.

It is also important to communicate to the school community that the operating costs of the College are recovered only through government funding and the tuition and boarding fees charged. The future development of resources and facilities at the College needs to come from the active and generous support of the King's College community. A culture of philanthropy most be developed within the community because without it the school will not survive long term, and because the opportunity exits to provide greater opportunities for our students.

It is important to raise funds in support of the College's vision which is to provide “the best all-round education it is possible to obtain”.

The needs of education will continue to change rapidly in the 21st century and King's most be in a position to anticipate and respond to those needs.
