At the heart of the ministry of music within the life of the Chapel is the Chapel Choir. Singing as a Chapel chorister is a highly valued facet of the sense of service that the school seeks to engender in all students.

The main focus of its ministry is for Sunday services (about 45% of Sunday services are choral) providing contributions to add to the meaning, sanctity and appropriateness of services.

In general, the choir not only assists in the holiness and worshipfulness of Anglican liturgy, but also provides music that the congregation cannot provide and this becomes an offering on behalf of the congregation.

From time to time, the choir may also be called upon to present material other than liturgical music; in 2006 the choir performed a secular folk-song as part of a school concert.

Like top sports teams, the Chapel Choir is regarded as a premier team within College life. The school recognises the enormous commitment to service and music that choristers make and there is a fitting status and prestige within the school that is commensurate with the role of a chorister.

Membership of the Chapel Choir is by audition (normally within the first two weeks of the school year) and is open to all students from all year levels. In 2007 there were 38 places available: 12 sopranos & 8 altos (girls and unchanged boys voices), 8 tenors & 10 basses (boys with changed voices).

There is a vacancy also for an organ playing scholarship for 2010 (Organ Scholar) that can be awarded to a talented pianist at Grade 5 level or above; organ playing is also a valued and most important part of the ministry of music within the life of the Chapel.
