Rowing at King’s College aims to provide an enjoyable, quality, team oriented programme whereby students and coaches interact to assist students’ physical and emotional development.

The Rowing Club is based at the Auckland Rowing Club on the Tamaki River and has an on-land training base on site at King’s College. The College boat fleet is oriented to training and competition in VIII’s and IV’s and quad sculls. Other boats are used extensively for training and introducing students to rowing.

The aims of the King’s College Boat Club are:

• Personal involvement and achievement at all levels.

• Progressive skill development programmes for rowers and coxswains from Year 9 to senior crews.

• To experience success at the Maadi Cup regatta.
In 2009 the Under-15 VIII came 2nd in the national finals. In 2008 both the Under-18 boys and girls VIIIs reached their respective finals, with the Boys VIII gaining a silver medal'.
