A team of junior debaters from King's College, won the Auckland Junior Premier competition beating Auckland Grammar School in the final. They were lucky enough to be coached by Ben Kornfeld , a former student and member of the winning New Zealand team.

In other debating news, the Junior Open team of Ben Thomas (Averill, Year 10), Jamie Beaton (Greenbank, Year 10), James Lee (Averill, Year 10)  and Luke Paterson (Major, Year 9) was also victorious, beating Selwyn College. This team coached by Mrs Brooke Harter.
