Old Collegians' Hockey News

Two successful recent Old Collegian sportsmen achieve outstanding milestones this week.

Simon Child (ex-Greenbank) became the youngest player to achieve 100 internationals for the Black Sticks (New Zealand Men’s Hockey team) on Tuesday 11 August. He was playing in a series against Malaysia in which the game, being played in Palmerston North, ended in a 1-1 draw. He is only 21!

Tim Bond (ex-Major) umpired his first international hockey match in the same game.
