Athletics
At the Pacific School Games held in Canberra, Ngataua Hukatai won the Uder-14 shot and set a new Pacific School Games record with a throw of 16.76m. He also finished 8th in the U14 100m final and recorded a best time of 11.55. In the discus final he threw 51.40 m to place 6th.
At the same meeting Breeanna Potter placed 2nd in the Under-8 girls 3000m in a time of 10m52.sec.

In the second week of the holidays the College Athletic team recorded some excellent results at the New Zealand Championships starting with Michael Banks placing 2nd in the senior boys 6km road race. The senior road race team of Michael Banks, Jourdan Harvey and Charles Hulley placed 4th in the team’s race. The yr 9 road race team of Ben Moynihan (8th ), Liam Cowley (22nd )and Henry Newell (29th) placed 3rd in their teams race, William Thode placed 7th in the junior long jump with a best jump of 5.41m Ngatua Hukatia placed 2nd in the Shot with 15.17m and 6th in the discus with 43.21m. Breeanna Potter finished 6th in the senior girls 3000m in 10.22.22. Joshua Forman and Nikolai Molijn placed 10th in the senior long jump with a jump of 6.16m and Robert Horrocks placed 3rd in the senior javelin with a throw of 55.86m.

Michael Banks was also selected for the NZ paper Athletic team. (a non-traveling team)

Clay Target Shooting
In the second week of the holidays, Robert Greig placed 2nd at the New Zealand Schools Games and Ella Bogers finished 2nd and 3rd in her various disciplines.

 


Cricket
Playing for Northern Districts Under-17 team during the holidays, Ash Vodnala scored 117 runs for his team in their match against Central Districts. As a result of his performances over the holidays he has been selected for the New Zealand Under-17 cricket team.

Also gaining National, recent Old Collegian, Jonathon Bassett-Graham, who gained selection to the New Zealand Under-19 team.

Football
Congratulations to Adam Thomas, Nikolai Molijn and Thomas Spragg who were selected to play for the NZ Under-17 football team and played two test matches against Chile.

Hockey
Congratulations to Veeran Morar, who over the holidays was selected for the New Zealand Indians hockey team to play India in Wellington on February 20. It is a wonderful opportunity for him to play against the world’s eleventh ranked team

Karting
At the Beginning of the holidays, Arie Hutton raced in the Asia-Pacific Karting Championships in Macau, finishing a creditable 15th in the final of his class.


Sailing
Before Christmas, Joshua McKenzie-Brown competed in the Sail Melbourne Regatta. Which is an ISAF Grade 1 Olympic Classes Regatta and the first in a series of World Cup Events for the season. Joshua competed in the 4.4m class and raced in the open class with able-bodied sailors and disabled sailors also competing for their competition in the same fleet. After the 11 race series, Joshua had outstanding success gaining an overall 3rd placing in the open class and 1st in the disabled class.
